Our Functions are Personalised

Apart from being a general gathering, often there are arrangements of getting our members to meet each other or other potential people among guests. They are more than just venues where you blindly meet total strangers. Each function includes average 30 to 60 people; house parties or buffet sometimes include more. We try to get to know people whom we invite - pre-screening to ensure everyone is genuine and friendly.

We introduce people personally at the function, so you feel relaxed and able to make friends. At our dinner functions, people arrive one hour prior to sitting down to eat, so everyone can mingle by standing and talk. We make sure people swap seats so you can talk to everyone on the night. Additional assistance is provided especially to our members after the function if you need to get to know someone that caught your eye but did not have chance to talk.

Since 2002, so far our regular functions have been mostly once a month, future functions will be held 2 to 3 times a month. Other functions or gatherings are organised according to the suggestions and wishes of our members. The basic benefit of our functions is that people do get to know each other on a personal level, more so than if you just joined a noisy crowd for a night out.

Theme functions: eg. Speed Dating; Mediterranean Night, Multicultural Night, Asian night, etc....aimed at creating opportunities to meet people with other cultural backgrounds. In the future, there will be single parents night; cougar night; "casual dating- explorations " etc. to create opportunity of meeting for people with similar expectations and goals in life.

Winery Trip: Yearly Hunter Valley wine tasting bus tour day trip in September or October; more trips to the South Winery.

Casual gatherings: Spontaneously arranged according to the needs of the clients or their suggestions. Eg. Social drinks in the clubs; dancing night out in different venues; boating, cruise or private house gatherings. These are all arranged for the purpose of helping our registered members to meet, no surcharges involved in these gatherings. These gatherings can be organised by our members or friends; we select like minded people who share common interests to join these gatherings, so they can become friends and get involved in each other's social networks. These gatherings are only available to our members or people who we know quite well.

The age group of our routine functions are divided into specific age and open age: Ages 20- 45; Ages 45 plus and open ages. Dinners for 45 plus are held at the least once a month in different areas of Sydney.

Notes about Using Our Functions

As we are also a dating service, many people who attend our functions are our registered members. There are also friends of our members or people from outside our service. We advise our members to use our function as much as possible, to maximise the opportunity of meeting people. W

People at our functions do not represent the whole picture of our clientele.

We have around 700 registered members to use our one to one introduction service, which means only a small portion of them attend functions ( each function includes 30-60 people ). People of above middle age tend to use functions more than people of younger age group.

There is a general difference between introduction members and people who just prefer meeting at the functions: introduction members tend to be more ready to enter a stable relationship while people who are only interested in functions are more likely to be at a stage of life for just casual dating or making friends.

Therefore, if you are at a stage where you would like to share your life with someone special, there is more chance to meet a like minded person if you also open to meet our introduction members who are not there at the function. If you are a registered member, it is advisable to contact Rose if you are interested in someone or approached by someone at the functions. This often can save you time, effort or emotional discomfort. Our experience from past tells us that this is important. Rose works dedicatedly to assist our members to find a compatible partner.
